Sydney psychedelic rock favourites The Lazy Eyes have returned with their long-awaited second album, Cheesy Love Songs—and a limited-edition purple vinyl pressing is available now from Mindfield Records.
Arriving four years after their acclaimed debut album, SongBook, Cheesy Love Songs reveals a softer and more pop-focused side of The Lazy Eyes. The album combines dreamy psychedelia, warm melodies and richly layered arrangements with bittersweet songs about love, longing and missed opportunities.
A New Chapter for The Lazy Eyes
Formed in Sydney, The Lazy Eyes have become one of Australia’s most distinctive contemporary psychedelic rock bands. Harvey Geraghty, Itay Shachar, Leon Karagic and Noah Martin have toured internationally, appeared at major festivals and shared stages with artists including The Strokes, Wet Leg and Djo.
While SongBook introduced listeners to the band’s kaleidoscopic psychedelic sound, Cheesy Love Songs places a stronger emphasis on classic songwriting. Its melodies and harmonies draw from the timeless pop of The Beatles and The Kinks while retaining the unmistakably woozy character that made The Lazy Eyes such an exciting Australian band.
